Mundanity

On the SF blogs there’s talk right now of something called “Mundane SF” which apparently is SF without all the spaceships and alternate universes and things. But all I can think any time I see that name is “what a stupid, awful name for something.” Seriously, I wouldn’t want to write anything that would get labeled as “mundane,” and I fail to see how anyone can get excited over something with that name, no matter what its meaning in context.
