I’m reading Against the Day now. I had misgivings about it, but it turns out I’m loving every page. It’s reminding me of all the reasons I loved Pynchon in the first place.

Crazy French philosopher Jean Baudrillard, author of The Gulf War Did Not Take Place and Simulcra and Simulation, has died. Or is his death merely a hyperreal simulacra of an event whose perception has become so divorced from its referent that the referent ceases to exist at all?
