NPR : A Standup Guy Who Is Serious About Books
Last year there was a lot of hooplah about “fifty-two books in a year”. But it’s not a number I find impressive, I read a book a week normally. In fact, back before television, people would read two books a week. I you read for as little as an hour a day, you can probably polish off a book a week. Considering people watch TV an average of 4 hours a day, shaving off one of those hours for reading doesn’t seem like such a major proposition.
Anyway, in the link above, NPR profiles a stand-up comedian who’s reading a hundred books in a year. which is a little more like it.
