4:10 P.M., Saturday, April 20th, 2002 The New York Times is
reporting that the San Fernando Valley (aka "The Valley") wants to secede from the rest of Los Angeles.
The new Valley city, whatever its name, would immediately oust Cleveland for the title of lamest city in the U.S.

09:55 A.M., Saturday, April 6th, 2002 God how I miss Suck and Feed and Word.
This is only exaccerbated by the fact that
Slate has today one of the most mind-numbingly retarded articles on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan girls.
Oh how I curse the cruel gods who have made, of the original web titans, Slate the last man standing.
At least
Salon hasn't gone down or gotten bought by a monolithic corporate entity. Knock on some mother-fucking wood.

05:27 A.M., Monday, April 1st, 2002 Right now I'm in full on hibernation mode, working on
YankTheChain (big changes coming soon). I just finished my ode to New York, New York Über Alles, over 3000 words which I'll be putting up on YtC this Wednesday. We're also launching the new YankTheChain store. I say "We", but really it's me since HX has taken a bit of a hiatus to concentrate on school, so I'm the only YtC "Staffer" now, though we still get submissions from all sorts of people.
I also finished the redraft of the Oracle at Hammerstein Chapter 3, so that'll be going up sometime soon, and I'm nearly done with the first draft of Chapter 4. The structure of the thing recently became totally clear to me, but I'm not going to talk about it until Chapter 5 is out of the bag, because that's really the pivital chapter as far as the structure's concerned.
I'm also working on three pieces that are self-referential, namely the revised YankTheChain "about us" essay, the long-belated YankTheChain "FUQ" (frequently unasked questions), and the reised "About Eric Rosenfield".
I'm not sure anyone actually views this site (and I'm not sure I can blame them, it's not updated very often) but it's a vanity site and an archive and I'm sick of it saying that I have an "identity crisis". I just haven't had time to change it, and now I have time, so I'm changing it.
